The ‘folklore festival’ in Neustadt in Holstein is one of the oldest folklore meetings in our continent and is known as the mother of numerous folklore meetings all over Europe.
Due to the hospitality of many families in Neustadt in already more than 50 years we have contributed to peace in Europe. Therefore the European Council thanked the city of Neustadt in Holstein already in 1969 by awarding the title ‘European City’ and the presentation of the European Flagg for the engagement of the citizens. Hundreds of friendships, some of them exist already for generations, are an impressive testimonial to that.
But also in the new Millennium we take the mission of peace in Europe very seriously and you can contribute by taking part in this fantastic event.
We are looking forward to a festive week where music, dance and motion take centre stage. Celebrate with us and over 400 guests from all over Europe.
